Service at a hospital can range anywhere from cooks to nurses to doctors and surgeons and it takes all of them together in making everything run smoothly.
That is why Bartlett Regional Hospital recently recognized more than 80 employees with Employee Service Awards.
Angela Lessard, who received her service award for 15 years on duty as a clinical nurse, was also named the 2018 Excellence in Nursing Award winner. Lessard said it is the people she works with that make the hospital what is is.
“I like the personal connection I get with people,” Lessard said in a statement. “And I really love working with someone through labor, seeing them deliver and then taking on the role as parents, how they fall in love with their baby and figure out nursing. That’s just so beautiful. Bartlett is the people that work for it. I work with amazing people that I respect a lot. This is a big honor. I am very grateful.”
Lisa Stewart has been with BRH for 25 years and received her ward as a pharmacy technician. She said the family-like atmosphere she experiences with her colleagues impacts her in and out of work.
“I think there is a lot of support, not only at work but outside of work,” Stewart said. “That just makes it really nice. If anyone is interested in medical care or if they want to become a pharmacist, this is the best way to get the knowledge, by becoming a tech. I call us a pharmily.”
