Volunteer opportunity for the week of July 10

Organization: Meals on Wheels.

The Meals on Wheels Program in Juneau and Douglas is bursting at the seams and we need your help. We need dependable, trustworthy people to deliver hot, nutritious meals to homebound senior citizens.

A volunteer with a regular delivery route one day a week arrives at the Juneau Senior Center on 12th Street and Egan Drive between 11:30 a.m. and noon to pick up the meals and then delivers them to about six to eight homes in a common location. Douglas is where we most need volunteers right now, but downtown Juneau could use some as well.

Volunteers are needed to deliver a regular delivery route one day a week or to serve as substitutes on an occasional basis. Training is provided. For further information, call Susanne Elder at 463-6179.
