Marie Drake to host retro sci-fi night Tuesday

Atomic tests in New Mexico create giant, man-eating ants that threaten civilization — at least for a couple of hours, as Marie Drake Planetarium will show the 1954 sci-fi film “Them” at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

Attendees at this free event are encouraged to wear costumes. All ages are welcome, and hard chairs will be provided. However, guests can bring a blanket or more comfortable chair if they’d like.

The planetarium building is located on Glacier Avenue between Juneau-Douglas High School and Harborview Elementary School.

For more information, please call 500-2941 or visit mariedrakeplanetarium.com.
