Thanks for help in time of need

Letter: Thanks for help in a time of need

This is a quick note of thanks to those involved in helping locate and recover J. Steve Reese the night of Aug. 1st thru the afternoon of Aug. 2nd, 2011. The Juneau Police Department officers (Officer Westky and Sergeant Branson) were helpful and honest in recognizing our concern over the situation and acting appropriately. Sergeant Birt of the Alaska State Troopers was quick in gaining information and organizing the groups necessary to help find our friend. Another thanks goes to SE Search & Rescue and SEADogs for their help in the search and recovery. It all went so smooth and we all are grateful. I speak on behalf of myself, the Bartlett Regional Hospital Nursing Staff, friends of Steve and the Reese family when I send out a big “thanks!” to those involved, especially all who showed their compassion, professional training and humanity. Being the humanitarian he was, Steve himself would have been impressed.
