Recruitment begins for Rotary Group Study Exchange

Young professionals working in the field of maternal and child health are invited to apply for Rotary District 5010’s 2012 Group Study Exchange (GSE) to District 9920 in New Zealand and Fiji, March 24 to April 23, 2012.

The GSE will take place next spring as participants travel from Alaska and Yukon to New Zealand and Fiji and a similar team from New Zealand and Fiji travels here.

According to Rotary International, the GSE is a unique cultural and vocational exchange opportunity for business and professional men and women in the early years of their careers. The program is designed to develop professional and leadership skills among young people to better prepare them to address the needs of their communities and an increasingly global workplace. It also furthers the goal of Rotary to improve world understanding and peace.

Applicants must be between the ages of 25 and 40, be “in the profession” for at least two years (in order to fully benefit from the program), and work in a field related to maternal and child health including, but not limited to: doctors, nurses, dentists, ophthalmologists and optometrists, midwifes; those who work in the fields of audiology, nutrition/dietetics, imaging/radiology, mental health, paramedics, health policy analysis and aligned professionals.
