On Aug. 10, the Juneau Amateur Radio Club held a “thank you” barbecue for National Weather Service employees at their weather station located on the Back Loop Road. The service has worked closely with the Juneau Amateur Radio Club to be able to have emergency communications available in the event of a disaster. The event was to show the club’s appreciation to the service for providing space for the club to install and maintain a fully operational ham radio communications post as well as allowing use of their meeting room.
