Pets for the week of Sept. 11

Posted: September 11, 2011 - 12:00am

Makita-

I’m a black beauty who craves gentle attention. I’ll close my eyes when you stroke my head and scratch behind my ears. I’m not sure how comfortable I am around dogs, but I do great with calm and respectful cats. A talented rabbit, I’m litter box trained and looking for a home where I can hop around, munch a little hay, and solicit head rubs while we read a good book or watch a movie together.

Jazz

I’m a 3-year-old boy who will capture your heart with my dazzling green eyes and my giant purr. I’m a cuddlebug and a big teddy bear who loves to be picked up and snuggled with for hours. I’m a very social kitty who would love to find a forever family of my very own.

Higgens

An outgoing, fluffy 10-month-old, I’m looking for a family who will not only give me lots of love, but also take the time to entertain my playful nature. I’m an energized young boy, who loves to play, and just be an all-around teenager. Do you have room in your heart and home for me?

Emmitt

I’m a 7-year-old male Labrador-Husky mix. I’m a gentle boy, but don’t let my white muzzle fool you — I have plenty of get up and go to keep an active human busy. I love to swim and would enjoy a home where beach outings are frequent. In my spare time I enjoy scratches behind the ears and munching on Kongs stuffed with goodies.

Pets of the Week

I think this is a wonderful thing for the Empire to do. This, I'm sure, precipatates many adoptions that maybe wouldn't have happened without it. It is a wonderful community service. The best part is how much it helps the animals. Bravo Empire!
