SERRC offers All-Alaska Academy

SERRC — Alaska’s Educational Resource Center’s All-Alaska Academy offers secondary students hands-on learning experiences that explore state government and career exploration.

The Alaska Close-Up, Junior Alaska Close-Up, and Government Internship programs bring students from around the state to Juneau for week-long sessions. Sessions are taught by effective teachers, aligned with Alaska content standards, and allow students to meet with legislators and other elected officials, watch legislative sessions, and job-shadow (Government Internships).

Students must be accompanied by a teacher/chaperone. Both students and teachers can earn university credit (one credit for students, three professional development credits for teachers) for participating in the program.

The deadline to submit letters of intent for the Feb. 6–10 or Feb. 20–24 sessions is Nov. 18.

For more information, visit, email or call 586-6806.
