UAS Center for Mine Training Director Mike Bell began the first “Introduction to Mining Occupations” class with 19 Juneau Douglas Highschool Students the week of Jan. 23.

The course is funded in part through the Hecla/Greens Creek partnership and is designed to encourage interested students to pursue careers in mining-related fields, including the Mine Mechanic pathway set up by UAS.
