My sister, Lisa Shira, was in a terrible car accident on Feb. 15. An unlicensed and uninsured motorist crashed nearly head-on into her car. She suffered multiple injuries, including a broken hip, femur, ankle, arm, wrist and more. Lisa was in the critical care unit for over a week and is still at the Mat-Su Regional Medical Center hospital in Palmer. Her husband, Guy Shira, has taken time off work to care for their four daughters and to be by his wife’s side.

The family lived in Juneau for 25 plus years before moving to Wasilla, so I’m hoping to reach out to people they know.

We’re asking friends and family of the Shiras for cash donations to Alaska USA FCU, account no. 1700016632200 to help cover the cost of her care. Also needed are Alaska Airlines air miles to assist in getting family members there to care for Lisa upon her release from the hospital. All donations, big or small, would be greatly appreciated.
