SEARHC hosts Denali KidCare pediatric dental clinics in Southeast

The SouthEast Alaska Regional Health Consortium (SEARHC) will host special Denali KidCare pediatric dental clinics in a number of Southeast Alaska communities in April. The clinic is open for children younger than 13-years-old that are currently enrolled in the State of Alaska’s Denali KidCare program or are on Medicaid. Dr. Lee Steinle will lead the pediatric dental team for the Hoonah and Yakutat Clinics. Dr. Linsenmayer will lead the pediatric dental team for the Sitka clinic.

Hoonah

In Hoonah, the clinic will be April 16-20 at the SEARHC Hoonah Health Center.

This special pediatric clinic will feature dental examination appointments on Monday and Tuesday, April 16-17, with follow-up treatment taking place later in the week, April 18-20.

Parents and guardians who wish to have their children participate in this special clinic should call Anasia Merculief in Hoonah at 945-3235 to schedule an exam appointment. Yakutat

In Yakutat, the clinic will be Monday and Tuesday, April 23-24, with follow-up treatment taking place later in the week, April 25-27.

Parents and guardians who wish to have their children participate in this special clinic should call Betty Bueller in Yakutat at 784-3260 or 784-3275, Ext. 25, to schedule an exam appointment. Sitka

In Sitka, the clinic will be Wednesday and Thursday, April 18-19, with follow-up treatment taking place on Friday, Monday and Tuesday, April 20, 23 and 24.

Parents and guardians who wish to have their children participate in this special clinic should call Selma Stonebreaker in Sitka at 966-8343 to schedule an exam appointment. For more information about SEARHC’s Denali KidCare special clinics, contact SEARHC Dental Case Coordinator Sydney Akagi in Juneau at 463-6698.

Denali KidCare is a state program designed to make sure Alaska resident children younger than 18 of working and non-working parents, and expecting mothers who meet income guidelines, have insurance so they have full access to health care. SEARHC partners with the Denali KidCare program to provide special clinics around the region when pediatric dentists are available.
