The work we do in the Juneau School District – each employee in each of our schools, every day – is vitally important to the children we serve and the community in which we live. Our collective interest in the success of our students - “each one, every one” - and seeing every single child succeed academically, socially, and emotionally is a challenge to which we all rise. But we are not alone in this work.
The United Way – using whatever our community can generously give – provides funding for a myriad of agencies that directly support our efforts. These agencies provide essential basic services to support the children and families we work with on a daily basis. As my friend often says, “They put their shoulder to our wheel.”
There is no District requirement that employees donate to United Way, but many of our employees do. Those individual contributions, however large or small, support the agencies that are partners in our work every day, and that makes a huge positive impact in the day-to-day lives of many of our students.
Thanks to our staff members and our community members for doing whatever you can.
Together, not only can we make a difference, we do make a difference!
