SAGA celebrated AmeriCorps Week

To kick off AmeriCorps Week, SAGA organized a kickoff event, including a large group photo with current and former volunteers. A 12-person delegation from Sitka also visited Juneau to participate in the activities.

SAGA partnered with City and Borough of Juneau Parks and Recreation to participate in a service learning trail work event on March 10.

The photo (see C1) represents 69,000 hours of service.

On March 12, AmeriCorps members were introduced and officially recognized on the floor of the State House and Senate for their many hours of service.

SAGA AmeriCorps volunteers have been volunteering in Juneau and beyond since the organization’s founding in 1986.
