This year’s baccalaureate for all of Juneau’s graduating high school seniors in the class of 2012 will be held at 7 p.m. May 24 at the JDHS auditorium. The baccalaureate is an interdenominational faith celebration, organized by the parents of Juneau’s high school seniors, whose purpose is to celebrate this life transition and send them on to the next phase of their lives with the blessings of our faith communities and their families. There will be senior student speakers and performances in the program as well as blessings from different faith leaders in our community. Governor Sean Parnell and Rabbi Dov Gartenberg will be the main speakers for the evening. Graduates are asked to wear their gowns and meet in JDHS auxilliary gym between 6:30 and 6:45 p.m. Families are asked to bring a plate of cookies or fruit/veggies for the reception following, sponsored by Moms in Touch.
