The University of Alaska Southeast was honored to grant John Borbridge Jr. an Honorary Doctor of Laws degree at its Commencement May 6. In the Commencement Program, Borbridge was called the first president of the Central Council Tlingit and Haida Indian Tribes of Alaska. Borbridge was the first full-time president, taking on the role after Andrew Hope II led the organization for several years.
