Anna White

B.A., Elementary Education
Anna White

Anna White was born in Gervais, Ore. and her family moved to Alaska when she was about 8-years-old. She currently lives in Voznesenka Village, about 20 miles east of Homer, with her husband and three children.

“I chose UAS because I was able to finish my degree from home. I enjoyed that I could work, be home in time to be with my family and pursue my degree.”

After graduation she plans to spend time with her loved ones.

“It took seven years and I am ready for a new chapter in my life. I am already on the lookout for teaching jobs in our community and in the Homer area and feel up for a challenge.” White said.

“I feel accomplished. All my hard work paid off and I could not have done it without my wonderful support system at home and very considerate supervisor, UAS Education faculty Jeffrey Lofthus.”

White enjoys spending time with her children, doing inside activities such as sewing and re-decorating and outside activities such as hiking, biking and camping.

“This summer my family and I plan on taking a road trip. We are not sure how far we will go but we would like to see Alaska from another perspective.”
