No coasting for runners, volunteers at Sea Coast Relay

Thanks to the community of Juneau for making the 22nd Annual Sea Coast Relay such a great success. I want to thank the runners on all 30 teams for taking part in this fun relay race, supporting Southeast Road Runners and for running a safe race. The construction activity at the university made the race a bit of a challenge and luckily, most runners love challenges. Thanks to the folks that live on the old Lena Highway for being patient with runners and cars as they made their way through the first leg of the race. Thanks to the University of Alaska Southeast for providing the location for two of the five exchanges during the race which makes my job of setting up the race and manning timing stations much easier and allows runners the opportunity to be part of the Juneau Community Day on Campus event. The festivities at the university provided the runners with a great cheering section as they finished their race and included music provided by Juneau Jazz & Classics. The Sea Coast Relay would be impossible to coordinate without the help of volunteers and this year I want to thank Sheila Corey, Steve Turner, Ron Heintz, Bonita Nelson, Sara Peacock, Chris Hay-Jahans, Ginny Eckert, Meghan Garrison, Hilary Henon, Shawn Miller, Mr. Bunton, Lia Domke, Ben Tamone and Bob Tamone. Finally, I would like to thank the Southeast Roadrunners for supporting such a great running community in Juneau.
