Meals On Wheels delivery volunteers needed

Juneau’s Meals On Wheels Program is currently seeking dependable, trustworthy people to serve as meal delivery volunteers.

Volunteers who are able to serve homebound elders in the North Douglas area around the noon hour are particularly needed at this time.

For Douglas, Juneau, Lemon Creek, and North Douglas routes, the volunteer with a regular delivery route (one day a week) would arrive at the Juneau Senior Center kitchen between 11:30 a.m. and noon to pick up the meals and then deliver them to five to 10 homes in a common location.

Volunteers wishing to serve the Valley and Auke Bay routes would pick up the meals at St. Paul’s Church.

Volunteers are needed to deliver a regular route one day a week or to occasionally serve as substitutes.

Training is provided. For further information, call Zachary Hozid at 463-6179.

Southeast Senior Services offers thanks in advance for help with this important service.
