On Aug. 25 Alaska Zipline Adventure will host an afternoon of family friendly activities for the community to enjoy with all proceeds benefitting Discovery Southeast. Discovery Southeast is a local non-profit organization that provides outdoor education for the local community.
Everyone is invited to come to Eaglecrest Ski lodge from Noon-5p.m. for a festival of events including two short ziplines ($15, ages 7 & up), a kids obstacle course ($5), axe throwing ($5 for adults and children), face painting ($5), a recycled arts and crafts table ($5), free music by Teri Tibbett, and grilled food, drinks and beer available for purchase.
Local businesses have been enthusiastic in support of Discovery SE and have generously donated items to a silent action that will run during the entire event. Some of the auctions items include float plane trips to the Taku Lodge, helicopter tours, gym membership trials, outdoor gear, gift certificates to Rejuvenation, Jerry’s Meats & Seafood and more.
Discovery Southeast gets Alaskans outdoors through hands-on nature education programs to teach everyone to enjoy the natural surroundings and develop a lifelong, healthy appreciation for the outdoors. Alaska Zipline Adventures at Eaglecrest shares the same outdoor values and is pleased to sponsor Mountain Zip Fest to help raise money for this great local organization. Proceeds from the event will go to summer camps, programs in schools, enrichment programs, teacher education trips, and publications about local trails and natural areas.
