Cancer Connection would like to thank the community of Juneau for making the “Beat the Odds – A Women’s Race Against Cancer” run/walk a great success on Aug. 25. We had more than 450 participants willing to go head to head with the liquid sunshine — all for a worthy cause. Although we advertise this as a women’s race, we wholeheartedly welcome all the men who want to run or walk in support of their mothers, sisters, wives or friends.
We had wonderful support from the business community and would like to gratefully thank our sponsors and supporters for their contributions. Funds raised from this event stay right here in Southeast Alaska, giving assistance to those dealing with cancer and their families. We also sponsor education programs and awareness events with the intent of prevention and early detection of cancer.
