This letter is a thank you to everyone who contributed to our Aug. 17 fundraiser to support medical scholarships for the Waner Children’s Vascular Anomaly Foundation (wanerskids.org). One in 70 children is born with a vascular anomaly. Some of those children, like our daughter, need specialized treatment for this condition. Medical scholarships help families without financial means to have access to these life changing surgical procedures. We were so heartened by the outpouring of support from our friends, coworkers and from the Juneau business community in making this event a success. All told, close to $1,500 dollars was raised. Special thanks go out to Costco, B’s Bakery, Wild Oven Bakery, The Alaska Fudge Company, Taku Smokery, Pie in the Sky, the Juneau Baha’i community, the Tlingit & Haida Vocational Training and Resource Center, the Parkshore Condo staff and co-workers at the State Department of Education & Early Development. As well, we owe a huge thanks to the local flute quartet ‘Flutacious’ who donated their time and talents.
Many, many thanks,
Sam and Silvana Jordan
