Girl Scouts on the move

Girl Scout troop 4036 was treated to an adventure aboard a Holland America cruise ship this summer.

Juneau Girl Scout Troop 4036 would like to thank Holland America Line for hosting the troop’s recent visit aboard the M/S Amsterdam. The girls were treated like royalty by the ship’s party planner. In turn, the cruise ship passengers seemed to be charmed by the local Brownie troop (one passenger broke out into a Girl Scout song when she saw the girls in uniform). The troop is comprised of second, third, and fourth grade students from Gastineau and Harborview Elementary Schools, the Juneau Community Charter School, and home-schooled families. The girls are currently planning a summer expedition to Whitehorse, Canada, and are looking for local sponsors to help fund the trip. Along with the adventure, this trip will teach the girls money management skills, international trip planning, and working together as a troop to achieve a big goal.
