Friends of the Poor Walk fundraiser

Thanks to the generous donations of the people and businesses of Juneau, the third Annual Friends of the Poor Walk held on Sept. 15 was a huge success. This fundraiser was sponsored by the St. Vincent de Paul Society of Juneau. More than $12,000 was raised during this event. First, the money raised will be used to fill the holiday food baskets that are distributed each fall to the poor and needy of our community. Any and all remaining funds will be used for other direct services to the poor provided by St. Vincent de Paul, such as housing, clothing, rent, utility, transportation and medical assistance.

Your donations allow the St. Vincent de Paul Society to continue its mission to perform works of charity and to serve the poor. It is a good sign when a community comes together to take care of its own.

Thank you,

Barbara Bechtold, St. Vincent de Paul Board Member
