Outstanding students recognized by TMHS

Math teacher Mr. Gasche, ninth-grader Zeke Spencer, 10th-grader Rhyann Ashcroft, 12th-grader Michelle Manning, counselor Kathy McCasland and Assistant Superintendent and guest speaker Laury Scandling pose at the lunch honoring these outstanding student.

Each month, Thunder Mountain High School recognizes students who set examples in the school community for their behavior and initiative. The students are treated to a lunch provided by the parent group and a guest speaker gives a short presentation. For the month of October, three students were nominated.

Michelle Manning is a senior at TMHS and was nominated by math teacher Mr. Gasche.

“Michelle is an active leader and game changer on the volleyball court. She is also an outstanding mathematics student, willing to go the extra mile to achieve superior understanding of content.” Gasche wrote.

Zeke Spencer is a freshman at TMHS and was nominated by Mr. Marquart.

“Following lunch in the teal commons Zeke noticed how messy the floor was and assumed a leadership role with his peers in encouraging them to clean the area before going to class. He did the majority of the work, but others responded to his call and helped clean as well.” wrote Marquart.

Rhyann Ashcroft is a sophomore, nominated by Mrs. Northcutt.

“Rhyann is always dedicated to creating meaningful and detailed projects in my desktop publishing course. She is always willing to help others and sets a good example for her peers by self advocating.” Northcutt wrote.
