Celebrating 50 years

On behalf of myself and my husband, Dwane Kaplor, I would like to thank everyone who attended our 50th anniversary party at the Moose Lodge on Aug. 26.

The party was wonderful and we had a great time. I would like to thank the following individuals for helping out. Without each and every one of you, this party would not have come together. First of all, I would like to thank our daughter, Karen Fortwrengler, and our son, Kenny Kaplor for organizing a great party.

Thanks to the ladies who helped decorate the room. You all made the room looks so nice. Thank you to Cindy Hudson, Teresa Newton, Melanie Weed and Kathy Buell who also supplied the balloon decorations and the cake.

Thanks to Kelly Stout for making the display boards of pictures. Thanks to Mike, who is the janitor at the Moose Lodge, for getting the lodge set up. The food was woderful and we would like to thank chef Dave Moorehead, his wife Gail and his daughter Devin. THanks to Kenny and Susie and Kyle Kaplor for working so hard on a great menu. Thanks to Amyanna, who greeted guests as they came in the door and cleaned up along with her riend, Brian McDaniel. Thank you to those who cut the meat at the stations, Matt Richardson and Shirley McCoy. And thanks to Steve “Fingers” Kinter, who did the dishes.

Thank you to Edward Hanson, Roxanne Thomas and Tom Whiteley for helpoing out when it was needed. Thanks to John Casey, who was the bartender that night. And thanks to the Loyal Order of the Moose for allowing us to hold the part in the space at the Moose Lodge. Last, but not least, thanks to Alaska Travel Adventures for allowing the use of the Hummer that night, and to Kevin Fortwrengler for driving us to and from the party.

Thanks everyone,

Betty and Dwane Kaplor

A big thank you to Bartlett Hospital’s cardiac rehabilitation department

Thank you to the staff and patients of Bartlett’s Cardiac Rehabilitation Department for their donation of baby food. This much-needed donation is critical for providing healthy food to young family members, who are most in need of nutritious food. We should always remember that “healthy choices fight heart disease.” Bartlett’s Cardiac Rehabilitation Department’s special, specific donation reminds us that the health of our children is the first step towards a long and healthy life, and their generosity is overwhelming. This donation will make a difference in the lives of babies and their families in need. Thank you Bartlett’s Cardiac Rehabilitation Department!
