Youth Action Committee offers support to teens at risk

The Youth Action Committee, of the Juneau Community Foundation, is issuing grants to Juneau charities with the goal of addressing the needs of teens at risk. The grant focus is reducing substance abuse by encouraging healthy, alternative activities.

Organizations may apply for grants of up to $2,000. YAC members will review all proposals and make site visits to the top applicants. Applications must be received by Nov. 16. Applications are available online at www.juneaucf.org. For more information, please call 463-3223.

With the help of the Juneau Community Foundation and local organizations, YAC members strive to improve the lives of their peers. They encourage organizations in the community to respond to the YAC goals and submit grant proposals.
