Thanks to community for help during fire
My son has lived in the Gastineau Apartments for the last 4 years and I was very distressed to learn of the apartment fire 2 nights ago. I am very thankful that he, and all the residents, made it out of the apartment safely, but he lost many of his possessions in the fire. I was very impressed at the prompt response of the Red Cross and many other Alaskans who came forward to help my son and others during this emergency. I live in the lower 48 and was not able to get to Juneau to help him. Alaskans are really amazing, in times of crisis, they are always there and willing to help those in need. I want to thank everyone who was there to assist my son and express my appreciation at your kindness.
