Traditional Christmas Bazaar at McPhetres Hall Nov. 24

A traditional Christmas bazaar with crafts, cookies and wreaths is set from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 24, at McPhetres Hall, 4th and Gold Streets downtown. It’s a fund-raiser for Holy Trinity Episcopal Church

“You can find a stocking stuffer, collect cookies and tins for gifts from the kitchen, choose a wreath for your front door, enjoy a bowl of soup – whatever you need, we’ve got you covered,” said church member Alison Talley.

The event starts at 9 a.m. with baked goods and hot drinks. There is no admission fee.

“We’re starting an hour before the public market, so you can come have coffee, tea, cinnamon rolls and scones before heading to the market,” Pam Finley, an event organizer said.

A soup-and-bread lunch starts at 11 a.m.

The bazaar includes decorated Christmas wreaths, jellies and jams, treasures from the Mustard Seed gift shop and a variety of baked goods. Homemade crafts include knitted hats, quilted purses and sea glass jewelry.

“I get my cookies there, some bread, a few gifts and a fresh wreath,” Snow Snow, chief bazaar organizer, said. “It’s a great shopping experience and I can go the same day I go to the Alaska-Juneau Public Market.”
