Capital City Rotaract, a Rotary sponsored service club for men and women ages 18 to 30, is coordinating the Christmas Dinner Project for the fifth consecutive year. Last year Rotaract put together 200 boxes of traditional holiday foods for neighbors in need. Rotaract is working with Super Bear and Northland Services to gather supplies, pack and also deliver the boxes — but the process starts with donations from community members.
Food boxes will be put together by Rotaractors and Northland Services will be delivering them to Salvation Army, St. Vincent de Paul, The Glory Hole and Catholic Community Services. Those agencies will then distribute the boxes to bring holiday cheer to hundreds of Juneau families this December.
There are many ways to help.
Community members can donate; one food box contains approximately $50 of food items. Your donation can help provide a Juneau family with a complete holiday meal. Donations and Price Smashers can be sent to P.O. Box 020347 Juneau, AK 99802. Checks can be written out to “Capital City Rotaract.”
Save those Super Bear Price Smashers. Price Smashers can be mailed to the Christmas Dinner Project, dropped off at the Jordan Creek Center (drop box near Copy Works), the JACC, Mendenhall Auto, GCI, or handed to any Rotary or Rotaract Club member.
Rotaract offers thanks in advance for community support and asks that everyone share this information with friends, relatives and co-workers who might like to donate.
