Thank you to all the folks who helped make the 5th Annual Hit the JACC Putt “Fairy Tales” a rousing success with 1,000 putters coming out to play a round!
We particularly thank the artists who created the holes:
• The ACE students and teachers Elizabeth Knecht and Sherri McDonald) from Cedar Park (Thumbelina and the Dragon),
• Behrends Mechanical (Ugly Duct-ling)
• Bing Carrillo, (Gingerbread Man)
• Dan and Lauren Hopson (Hansel and Gretel, winning, in a very tight race, People’s Choice)
• Dolly Parton Imagination Library / Juneau Early Literacy Council (Little Engine That Could)
• Landscape Alaska (JACC and the Bean Stalk)
• MRV Architects (Three Billy Goats Gruff)
• Night Moods (Rapunzel)
• The Canvas (Peter Pan)
AAA Moving and Storage has stored the holes for us for the past 5 years, and Alaska Marine Lines is storing them this year. Without them, we could not offer this event each year.
Mendenhall Golf Course loans us the putters, and Play It Again Sports provides the balls.
The Friends of the Library and City Librarians offered story time and fairy tale books for children to take home.
KATH provided promotional support and a raft of volunteers helped to pack up the course in time for New Year’s Eve.
Thanks to Shirley Dean for the cow!
And we particularly thank everyone who came to play.
Next year’s theme will be “Movies” and the course will be open Dec. 18 – 29. It is not too early to sign up to make a hole, or to book your holiday party!
Thank you!
Nancy DeCherney
