Hospice and Home Care of Juneau would like to express our sincere thanks to the community of Juneau, and those outside of Juneau, for your amazing and generous support of our programs through our most recent Light Up A Life Fundraiser. Many people in our community are without the means to pay for hospice and home care services as they or their loved ones approach the end of their lives. For these people, our professional staff is able to provide compassionate health care, comfort and support services, regardless of insurance coverage or ability to pay. It is because of contributions like yours that we are able to do so.
Light Up A Life had many helpers I wish to acknowledge, who made it come together and a huge success. First, many thanks to Dale Kelley, the students of Yaakoosge Daakahidi and teacher Ryia Walder for their amazing efforts in stuffing all the envelopes for our mailing. Thanks to the volunteers that helped with making ornaments to adorn our trees and a special thank you to the Nugget Mall for their yearly support in hosting our trees and table. Thanks also to Ron Flint and staff of The Nugget Alaskan Outfitter for storage of our supplies each week and, finally, thank you to all the volunteers who gave of their time to sit at our table collecting donations, decorating the trees and being spokespeople for our programs.
Most importantly, we wish to again thank those business and individuals that gave so generously and purchased stars and candles to honor loved ones who have passed and those who continue to live and light up our lives in special ways. The trees were beautiful and a visual way to show your amazing support for our programs and your generosity will indeed make a difference to many in the coming year.
