From everyone at Juneau Jazz & Classics, we’d like to thank the more than 150 people who came to Swing in the New Year on New Year’s Eve, as well as those who helped to make this third annual benefit for Juneau Jazz & Classics an enormous success.
Our heartfelt thanks go to the Ron Maas Family as well as to the Juneau Empire, Alaskan Brewing Company, the Baranof Hotel, KINY and KRNN for their generous support of this event.
Thanks also to all of our volunteers, who are so valuable to us! Our gratitude also goes to Betsy Sims and Studio A for sound; Bill Conrow for lighting; Sharon Gaiptman for emceeing; and Nancy DeCherney and the JAHC staff for their support.
Finally, a big round of applause goes to all of the wonderful musicians — Ron Maas and the Thunder Mountain Big Band, guest vocalist Cassie Miller from L.A., and The Trio: Pat Belec, Scarlett Adam, and Rebecca Albert — whose music lifted our spirits and launched the New Year on a high note.
We’re looking forward to more great events in 2013 — a special, one-night only show with ukulele virtuoso Jake Shimabukuro at JDHS on Feb. 11, and our 27th annual Festival May 3-18.
