Pets of the week for Jan. 20, 2013

Nickel is a sweet and gentle lady. She enjoys being brushed, petted and doted upon. While Nickel can be very sweet, she prefers being the only cat around and will do best in a home without children. Nickel is looking for a home full of soft places to lie upon and adult companions who will love her independent spirit. Are you an independent spirit in need of companionship? Nickel is the cat for you.

This little bunny is in search of a family to help bring out his fun-loving personality. A little on the shy side at first, Jack is cautious when meeting new people. He loves to hop around from person to person and once he warms up to you, he will let you hold and snuggle him. Are you a kind and patient person looking for a rabbit to give all your love to? Jack has been waiting for you!

A social butterfly, Fritz loves to hang out with his people. He’s a true lap cat and will snuggle up for as long as you let him. Fritz has been in search of a loving lap to keep him warm. Do you have an empty spot on your lap and in your heart for a cat like Fritz?

Avery is a very bright and loving 2-year-old miniature pinscher mix who enjoys games that engage her mind and body. She loves playing with squeaky toys, snuggling in warm, fuzzy blankets, and will probably do best in a home where she is the only dog. Avery has a ‘cherry eye,’ a condition which can be corrected, but will need to be attended to by her new family’s veterinarian. Do you have time and extra love to dote on a dog like Avery?

To meet these pets, visit the Gastineau Humane Society, 2 to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday or 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday. For more information call 789-2060.
