Pets of the week for Jan. 27, 2013

Although shy of new people at first, all Spike needs from his human companions is patience and a squeaky toy, his highest valued treat! This little boy is gentle, friendly and active. He will need someone who will hold him close and continue his basic training. Because of Spike’s bashfulness, we think he will do best in a home without young children. Do you have open and loving arms for a sweet dog like Spike?

Nickel is a sweet and gentle lady who enjoys being brushed, petted and doted upon. While Nickel can be very sweet, she will probably do best as the only cat in a home without children. Nickel is looking for a home full of soft places to lie upon and humans who will love her independent spirit. Are you an independent spirit in need of companionship? Nickel is the cat for you!

An older gentleman seeking a forever family, we feel DJ will do best as the only pet in a home. DJ is a very affectionate kitty to his human playmates and enjoys head rubs, feather toys and lounging about. Brush him once and he’ll love you forever. Do you have room in your heart and home for an awesome cat like DJ?

Our senior citizen of the group, Bubbles is an eager to please man with a big heart. He loves feather toys, craves body rubs and will be your forever friend for head scratches. Due to Bubbles’ mature age he prefers to be around mature adults and older cats who respect his ‘personal space’. Do you have a nurturing and loving home for Bubbles to retire at in his golden years?

To meet these pets, visit the Gastineau Humane Society, 2 to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday or 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday. For more information call 789-2060.
