The Juneau After School Coalition would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the groups and individuals who helped launch the B.A.M. program (Body & Mind, Before/After Middle School) at Dzantik’i Heeni and Floyd Dryden first semester this school year. These individuals and organizations very generously and successfully pioneered B.A.M. activities and instruction at both schools, engaging students in free, fun and enriching instruction beyond the school day.
Thank you to Laura Stats (Bartlett Regional Hospital) for Safe Sitter babysitting training; Melanie McGrath (SEARHC - SouthEast Regional Health Consortium) and Nate Heck (SAGA) for Outdoor Adventure Games; Kenneth Moriarty for Photography Studio; and Fred Weiler (SERRC - Alaska’s Eduational Resource Center) for Rock the Learner’s Permit.
Even more B.A.M. activities are scheduled second semester. Other interested individuals or organizations should contact program coordinator Betsy Brenneman by calling 463-1899 ext. 412 or emailing email@example.com.
The Juneau After School Coalition is a partnership of 17 local organizations and agencies supporting diverse, community-based, before and after school activities to strengthen Juneau’s youth.
