The Learning Connection (TLC) at 210 Ferry Way offers free computer and job search classes each month. Coming up in March are three classes.
Introduction to Microsoft Excel meets Mondays and Wednesdays from 5-7 p.m., March 4-27. This course is designed for those in need of a course covering Excel spreadsheet basics; new are topics covered each evening so it is recommended to commit to coming to all or most classes.
Introduction to Microsoft Access meets Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5-7 p.m., March 5-28. This course is for students in need of a course covering Access database basics; new topics are covered each evening so it is recommended to commit to coming to all or most classes. Students should have Windows basics down.
There is also open lab training time with job search guidance, covering job searching, resume creation, using ALEXsys, keyboarding and more. Open labs are Mondays and Tuesdays from 9-11 a.m. Instructors are available.
Also, Thursdays, March 14 and 28 from 10 a.m.-noon will be ALEXsys job search workshops co-facilitated with Juneau Job Center and TLC staff.
Interested individuals should visit TLC during class times to receive assistance, create a plan and register for classes. Open labs and daytime classes are open entry, but students should register the first night for evening classes.
