Thunder Mountain High School honors three students in February

Thunder Mountain High School faculty and staff recognized three students in February for their outstanding behavior. Students were treated to a lunch arranged by the Parent Teacher Organization, with guest speaker Karen Tarver. Michelle Strickler was also in attendance and awarded Jessica Thomas Rotary recognition for her service to her community.

Junior Jessica Thomas was nominated by Ann Boochever of the English department.

“Diligent, serious and hardworking are a few of the attributes that come to mind when I think of Jessica Thomas. An excellent student in both my American Literature and Creative Writing classes, Jessica consistently completes her assignments on time, submitting work that is thorough and thoughtful. When given an assignment, Jessica starts work on it immediately. Her positive attitude and astute attention in class demonstrate her progressive thinking. Jessica has her eye on her future, far beyond high school. She welcomes a challenge and, although always polite, is disappointed when it’s not there. Her no-nonsense attitude about school and willingness to work hard will lead her to much success in college and beyond. With an attitude like Jessica’s, the possibilities are endless! Congratulations Jessica. Keep up the good work!” Boochever wrote.

Junior Bradley Peterson was nominated by P.E. teacher Jim Kearns.

“Bradley is a polite, considerate and helpful young man. I always see him putting forth his best efforts. Bradley is as dependable as can be and dedicated to making his life good, as well as those around him. He is courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, brave, clean and reverent. I think that is a good recipe for a good citizen, which he is.”

Freshman Nathan Ropp was also nominated by Kearns.

Nathan is a 100 percenter. He always gives excellent effort in his swimming class. He is always respectful and polite. He is always where he is supposed to be when he is supposed to be there. I find him to be dependable, considerate, dedicated and determined to do his best. He is an example of a good citizen and certainly deserves to be recognized as such.
