WWII Internment Panel Discussion at library today

Today, Sunday, Feb. 24, a panel discussion about World War II internment with 1942 internees Mary Tanaka Abo and Alice Tanaka Hikido, Randy Wanamaker discussing his grandfather Kirichi Akagi’s evacuation from Angoon, and Marie Darlin discussing Juneau’s response, will be held at the downtown public library from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

Also on the agenda is a presenation about the Empty Chair Project, a proposed bronze statue of an empty chair to remember those Japanese-Americans who were forced into internment camps from Juneau.
