Alaska Youth Service Corp wants you

Summer jobs don’t have to be a bummer; 17- to 20-year-olds are eligible to apply to work with the Alaska Youth Service Corps for team-based summer work in the outdoors. JobX and SAGA have teamed up to recruit for the corps’ summer positions.

Crew members will be trained and deployed to conduct environmental stewardship activities on public lands in Southeast and Southcentral Alaska. They will work and live together as a team in service sites deployed in Southeast or Southcentral Alaska, earning a $900/month stipend from June 3-Aug. 14. Crew members who successfully complete the program will also ear a $1,468 Segal Education Award from AmeriCorps.

A recruitment event will be hosted at SERRC’s The Learning Connection, located at 210 Ferry Way, starting at 5 p.m., Thursday, April 18. For more information on the program or the recruitment event, call JobX at 586-5718 or SAGA at 789-6172.
