Thank you to all who helped the Juneau Symphony celebrate our 50th Anniversary at the Beethoven’s Ninth concerts in April. Over 1,400 people attended the weekend concerts including several musicians and audience members who had also attended the Juneau Symphony’s first performance in 1963. It was a pleasure to see that so many community members have been involved with the Symphony for so many years. Thank you to Richard Moore and the JDHS Choir for singing with us, and to Paul Gardinier and Cathy Botelho for creating the historical displays commemorating the event. We would like to thank the Alaska Youth Choir students and parents for helping with the 50th Anniversary reception, Heritage Coffee and Flying Squirrel for providing coffee, and Alex and Lisa from the Safeway Bakery Dept. for the beautifully decorated cake. It was a wonderful event and we look forward to the next 50 years of live music in Juneau.
