Youth Solo Competition application period now open

The Juneau Symphony has announced that the application period for the 2013 Youth Solo Competition is now open.

Entry applications must be received at the symphony office, 522 W. 10th St., no later than May 22 to be eligible for the competition. Musicians will compete in two categories, Junior Division for those 13 and under, and Senior Division, age 14 through those who will graduate from high school in 2014. Winners will perform with the Juneau Symphony and Juneau Student Symphony during the upcoming season. The competition is open to all young musicians in Southeast Alaska and will take place Wednesday, June 5, at Juneau-Douglas High School auditorium.
