The most important meal of the day, with help from JESS volunteers

Every year, the Juneau Education Support Staff (JESS) generously contributes to the school district's breakfast programs. Recently, JESS donated $2,100 between six schools who sponsor a volunteer program before school begins for hungry students. The recipients are pictured from left to right: Tom Milliron of Floyd Dryden Middle School, JESS President Cricket Curtain, Brenda Edwards of Gastineau Elementary School, JESS Treasurer Pam Tippets, Sarah Marino of Yaaḵoosgé Daakahídi Alternative High School, Sharon Avenson of Riverbend Elementary School and Molly Yerkes of Dzantik'i Heeni Middle School. Not pictured is Ted Wilson of Glacier Valley Elementary School. JESS is a small union affiliated with APEA/AFT and includes the custodians, para-professionals, nurses and administrative staff employed with the school district.
