Margaret Frans Brady Fund Scholarships announced

The Margaret Frans Brady Fund of the Juneau Community Foundation recently awarded a total of $5,000 to four Southeast Alaskans so they may continue their pursuit of artistic excellence:

Amanda Hoover, a 2013 graduate of Skagway High School, was awarded $2,200 to study photography at the Art Institute of Portland in Oregon.

Megan Bush, of Juneau, a graduate student in the MFA program at the University of Alaska Fairbanks, was awarded $1,300 to continue her creative non-fiction writing.

Lindsay Clark, a junior at Willamette University in Oregon, was awarded $1,000 to continue her degree in music.

Anouk Otsea, a freshman at Juneau-Douglas High School, was awarded $500 to attend the Houston Ballet Academy this summer.

“We were happy to see such a great variety of quality student-artists apply for our first year,” said Jeff Brady, chair of the MFB Fund Scholarship Committee. “These students have amazing talent and we are happy to assist them.”
