Academic Recognitions for the week of June 30, 2013

Kelsey Castagnola of Juneau has earned placement on the Gonzaga University President’s List for spring semester 2013. Students must earn a 3.7 to 4.0 grade-point average to be listed.


Slader Marshall of Juneau was one of more than 750 graduates to receive a diploma at Harding University’s commencement exercises May 11.

Marshall received a Bachelor of Business Administration in finance.

Cheyne Aiken of Juneau, AK was recently named to the President’s List at The State University of New York at Potsdam. Aiken, whose major is Geology, was among 827 SUNY Potsdam students who were honored for academic excellence in the Spring 2013 semester.

The SUNY Potsdam students have been honored for earning top marks by Interim President Dr. Dennis L. Hefner.

To achieve the honor of being on the President’s List, each student must have satisfactorily completed 12 numerically-graded semester hours, with a grade point average of 3.5 or higher.

Names of students who have made the Scholastic Honor Roll spring term have been announced by Oregon State University. A total of 874 students earned straight-A (4.0). Another 3,306 earned a B-plus (3.5) or better to make the listing. To be on the Honor Roll, students must carry at least 12 graded hours of course work. Students from Juneau with a 3.5 or better were Rhett W. Bennett, Sophomore, Microbiology; Brittany C. Donahue, Senior, Accountancy; and Robin M. Sylvester, Post Baccalaureate, Computer Science.
