Thank you, Juneau! The Gastineau Humane Society’s 4th of July parade participation, our annual Super Dog Frisbee Contest and our first ever Whale Watching cruise were a success because of your continued support and enthusiasm.
Thank you to Meg Cartwright for all of her hard work coordinating the GHS parade entry and the wonderful dogs and their humans who walked with us. Many behind the scene volunteers made our signs and costumes and helped put together all of the goodies we handed out to the crowd. We are grateful for your help. A special thank you to the crowd – your support was music to our ears!
The annual GHS Super Dog Frisbee Contest was full of wonderful dogs and their people. First place was awarded to Em, a 4 year-old border collie/aussie mix accompanied by her human Daniel Monteith. Second place was awarded to Haagu, a 7 year-old chocolate lab accompanied by his human Anthony Lindoff, and third place was awarded to Rufus, an 8 year-old golden doodle accompanied by his human Pete Carran. The ‘Fan Favorite’ award went to Nina, a 4 year-old border collie accompanied by her human Brant. All of this year’s competitors put on a great show for their adoring fans – what a bunch of talented pups! We would like to add a heartfelt thank you to all the dogs and their humans, the volunteers and judges who helped both before and after the event, and to the Aurora Projekt for printing the GHS bandanas.
Our first ever Whale Watching cruise was a great success. Being out on the water with Allen Marine and their wonderful crew, feasting on delicious food prepared by Abby’s Kitchen and viewing the most beautiful scenery in the world with some of the greatest folks around was a treat to be treasured.
Thank you Juneau for your ongoing support of animals in need – you are awesome! We couldn’t do it without support from animal lovers like you.
