BBBS picnic thanks

Sue Zahnd and Reilly at the BBBS picnic at Sandy Beach, Aug. 10.

Bigs, Littles, family, staff and friends of Big Brothers Big Sisters gathered for an afternoon of food and fun at our annual barbeque at Sandy Beach, Aug. 10.

On behalf of all who attended, we at BBBS would like to thank Walmart, Safeway, Foodland IGA, and McDonald’s for their generous donations, which supplied all the food and drinks for the gathering.

More than 50 people, including 19 Big/Little matches attended the barbeque, which is paritially funded by the City and Borough of Juneau through sales tax revenue.

Prior to the picnic, volunteers from Johnson Youth Center, three matches and their families worked to beautify the stretch of Old Glacier highway between Juneau-Douglas High School and the Bridge Day program building. Thanks to these folks who spent their sunny Saturday morning picking up trash along this stretch of road, helping to make Juneau that much more beautiful!
