Helping Hands auction dinner to be held Aug. 24

Helping Hands’ annual fundraiser and auction dinner will be held Aug. 24 at at Valley Church, (formerly Valley Chapel), located at 9741 Mendenhall Loop Rd. Dinner befgins at 5 p.m., and the auction at 6 p.m.

The dinner menu includes hand-boned turkey roasts, sliced ham, meat balls, desserts and home-made dinner rolls.

The silent and live auction will feature a wide variety of items, including, but not limited to, jewelry, art, handcrafted items, tour packages and gift certificates. 

This event is all ages. A $10 donation is requested for attendees age 10 to adult, $5 for children 3 to 9 years, and children 2 and under are free for the dinner and auction. All proceeds go to Helping Hands, a local nonprofit operated entirely by volunteers dedicated to providing food for those in need throughout Juneau and Southeast. Located at 6590 Glacier Highway, in the former Switzer Village Rec Hall, Helping Hands is open to the public every Tuesday and Friday from 5 to 7:30 p.m.
