Posted: August 25, 2013 - 12:10am

Fifty years after Martin Luther King Jr.’s landmark “I Have a Dream” speech, join community members at 5 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 28 at the Douglas Library to commemorate King and hear about the personal, political and social impacts of the civil rights era, discrimination and race. Hear about growing up black in the south, invisibility as a form of discrimination and much more. The program is run in association with the Black Awareness Association of Juneau and sponsored by Friends of the Juneau Public Library. Snacks will be provided.
