Neighbors briefly for the week of Oct. 6, 2013

The theme for this year’s poster contest is: Respect: Lead the Way. We encourage young Alaskans to create images around this theme, which may include youth helping others, being responsible community members, and choosing respect over violent or harmful behaviors. The deadline for receiving poster contest entries is December 13. Last year, there were an unprecedented 174 entries from all over Alaska. Contest guidelines and deadline information are detailed in the attached flyer, as well as at http://gov.alaska.gov/parnell/priorities/choose-respect.html . For more information, contact the Governor’s Anchorage Office at 907-269-7450.
