Secretary of the Juneau Alpha Theta chapter of Epsilon Sigma Alpha sorority Judith Hendrickson recently handed off a check for $400 to the Salvation Army in Juneau. ESA is a nonprofit international philanthropic sorority started in 1929, which adopted St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital as its first international service project and soon added Easter Seals as another.

Juneau’s chapter not only supports international charities, but local groups as well, including the Salvation Army, Glory Hole, Food Bank and AWARE Shelter. ESA’s Juneau membership is small; in addition to Hendrikson, the group is made up of President Tracy Solomon, Vice President Margi Maki, Treasurer Judy Nyman and members Sharon Lowe, Tracy Sisterman, Dorothy Zura and Mary Bergander. The chapter is seeking new members to join the sorority to make a positive difference in the lives of others. For information or to join, contact Hendriksen at cgjudy@yahoo.com.
